Health Disparities Among Racial and Ethnic Minorities: A Call for Equity

Susan Hendrix • February 5, 2025

Racial and ethnic minorities continue to face significant disparities in healthcare access and outcomes. Despite medical advancements, these communities remain:

✅ Less likely to receive preventive care
✅ More vulnerable to serious illnesses like diabetes and heart disease
✅ Less likely to access quality healthcare when they need it

These inequities are unacceptable. At the Charlie E & Minnie P Hendrix Foundation for Chronic Illness, we are committed to raising awareness, advocating for policy changes, and supporting initiatives that bridge the healthcare gap.

Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, yet racial and ethnic minorities often face significant barriers that lead to poorer health outcomes. These communities are less likely to receive preventive care, more susceptible to chronic illnesses like diabetes and heart disease, and often lack access to quality healthcare services. At the Charlie E & Minnie P Hendrix Foundation for Chronic Illness, we believe that equitable, quality healthcare is essential for all. Access to the right care at the right time can save lives, improve health outcomes, and strengthen communities.

📢 It’s time to push for equitable healthcare—because quality care should be a right, not a privilege.
